Steve Aiello
Past President
Steven Aiello is a Senior Product Architect with Online Tech in Ann Arbor, MI, a local managed service provider. At Online Tech, Steven is managing the company’s critical infrastructure including the company’s virtualization, storage, and security programs. Previously, Steve was with Automated Data Processing (ADP), the world’s largest payroll providers. He served the company for eight years as a Systems Engineer. In his tenure with ADP, Steven played a key role interfacing with auditing firms KPMG & Deloitte and Touche. He was also the Chief engineer for internal log monitoring solutions for Sarbannes-Oxley compliance. Previous to ADP he worked at Focus 1 Data. There Steven worked as a Systems Administrator overseeing all infrastructures in compliance with HIPAA standards. Mr. Aiello holds a BA in Technology Management and a Master’s of Science with a concentration in Information Assurance from Eastern Michigan University. His certifications include CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional), ISACA CISA, SANS GSEC, VMware VCP (VMware Certified Professional), Cisco CCNA ( Cisco certified Network Associate), and Certified Incident Responder (New Mexico Tech). Steven is a person that believes in continuous education and is constantly engaged in self-study and focused on bettering his technical skills.
Melinda Shoemaker

After receiving three degrees with honors and distinction in relation to security, which includes an Associate of Science in Homeland Security, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and a Masters in Technology Studies (Information Assurance Concentration), Melinda became heavily involved in numerous professional security organizations in the metropolitan Detroit area, which include leadership responsibilities in the following organizations: ISSA-Motor City Chapter President and Outreach Director, HTCIA Secretary and Education Director, InfraGard Programming Coordinator , and ASIS Program Chair. Presently, Melinda is a Ph.D. candidate in Public Policy and Administration with goals to join collaborative efforts in propelling legislation, nationally and globally, in the information security realm.

Roger Younglove
Past President
President - Roger Younglove, CISSP pioneered the efforts to start the ISSA-Motor City Chapter in 1999. He believed there was a need, and sufficient interest for a local Chapter, based on his queries to those he knew in the Security industry in the Detroit area. By January 2000 he enlisted several people to assist him, called a meeting and founded the chapter. Since then the first round of officers were selected, and meetings from February to May of 2000 formalized the chapter. Regular meetings were established during this period, with speakers on current popular security topics. Roger attended the national meeting in Florida, in March 2000 for the purpose of meeting other chapter officers, and discussing what has made other chapters successful. The Chapter reached 50 members under his 2 Year Presidency in 2002.
Phillip E. Hain

CISSP - Past Board Member - Phillip is a past President of the Motor City Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), and has held other leadership positions including Vice President, Treasurer, Advisor to the Board, and Director of Education. Phillip is also a founding member of the Motor City Chapter of ISSA and is currently on the Board of Directors for ISSA North Oakland County. Working for Hewlett Packard, Phil has been active in several roles including technical lead, engineering team member, and project management on multiple global security projects for fortune 100 companies. Prior to joining HP, Phil was employed with EDS, and Mazda System Services as a Security Engineer, and the National Bank of Detroit as a Compliance Analyst. Phillip is also a 25 year member of the United States Army / Army Reserve where he is currently serving a tour of duty with the Army as the Director of Information Technology for Garrison Command US Forces Kandahar Airfield, Kandahar Province Afghanistan. Phil holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Cleary University in Ann Arbor.
Brian Gawne

President - Brian Gawne is a senior manager with CTG’s Information Security Solutions practice where he is responsible for running the CTG Incident Response team, as well as delivering information security services to our clients. Mr. Gawne has over 14 years’ experience in information systems security design, implementation, and management, and over 12 years’ experience with performing digital forensics investigations for large companies in diverse geographic locations and industries. Before joining CTG, Mr. Gawne managed a consulting company called the Olympus Security Group, Inc., which focused on digital forensics and high-end security consulting. Mr. Gawne frequently works with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies such as the FBI and US Secret Service to track malicious activity, including testifying in court as a security expert. He is a board member of the High Tech Crime Unit, US Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force, and the President of the Detroit Chapter of ISSA. He provides training around the world in digital forensics and has authored several articles and books on the subject. Mr. Gawne holds a bachelor of arts in business information systems from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Along with many product-specific certifications, Mr. Gawne is a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Information Systems Auditor and Certified Information Systems Manager from ISACA, and has his Encase certification from Guidance Systems. He is a member of the following affiliations: International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2), the Association of Certified fraud Examiners (ACFE), ASIS International, High Tech Crime Unit (HTCIA), Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), and the FBI Infragard Program.

Michael Riley, Security Solutions Development Manager for Verizon Business Michael is a Board Member and past President of the ISSA Motor City Chapter. Michael has over 35 years of experience in Network and Security services. He has held positions as Security Consultant, Security Sales Engineer, Security Sales and Sales Management for ISP’s and leading security hardware and software companies.

Other organizations Michael has belonged to are, Program Manager of DEFSIG a Michigan Forensic Interest Group, and Advisor to the local InfraGard Chapter. Michael has a CISSP certification, and has been teaching The Official (ISC)2 CBK Review Seminars at Walsh College. He has proctored the CISSP tests in Michigan.
